The Bottom Line

12/8/08 - Acer has made a unique entry into the performance gaming PC market with the Predator GT7700. It features a very unique, albeit quite large, case that sets itself apart from other systems. Performance is quite good, but it falters a bit since the release of the new Core i7 processors with their improved memory controllers. Thankfully Acer packs it with eight gigabytes of memory and nearly 2 terabytes of drive space so you shouldn't need to upgrade. The big problem is the price could come down a bit based on its overall parts.

Guide Review - Acer Predator GT7700 Performance Gaming Desktop PC

12/8/08 - The most distinctive aspect of the Acer Predator GT7700 is the case. The orange metallic case features a very mecha style with a variety of sharp angles and a front panel door that rises over the top. One thing that buyers should be aware of is that this case is quite large and requires a fair amount of space either on top of or below a desk.

In terms of the performance, the Predator GT7700 is mixed. It uses older technology now with its Core 2 Quad Q9550 processor and DDR2 memory. This puts it at a disadvantage compared to systems using the newer Core i7 processor that includes the built-in DDR3 memory controller. Still, the performance is quite good and running out of memory should not be an issue thanks to the 8GB of DDR2. Most competing DDR3 systems only use 3GB.

Probably the best overall single feature of the Predator GT7700 is the hard drive space. Acer has put three 640GB 7200rpm SATA hard drives in the system. This gives it a huge amount of space to store applications and digital media files. No Blu-ray drive as Acer decided to use a more traditional 20x dual-layer DVD burner.

Since it is built for gaming, Acer includes a single GeForce 9800 GTX graphics card with 512MB of memory. The motherboard actually can support a total of three NVIDIA PCI-Express graphics cards for a three-way SLI configuration but this can be problematic due to the placement of some of the motherboard cooling elements. A newer graphics core from NVIDIA would have been nice.

A nice addition to the system is the inclusion of Logitech G11 keyboard and G5 laser gaming mouse. These are definitely a step up from most peripherals included with a desktop PC.

To all,i have CS 1.6 server,this CS 1.6 is for CS 1.6 no steam only.I use dedicated for make Server.Also i install AMX ModX for CS 1.6 like Mods.The Server name:SweetKillGaming.
